to Little Hoover Commission

SACRAMENTO, CALIF., April 10, 2012 - Governor Jerry Brown announced today that he appointed Jack Flanigan to the Little Hoover Commission. Formally known as the Milton Marks “Little Hoover” Commission on California State Government Organization and Economy, it is a highly-respected bipartisan state oversight agency. The Commission’s mission is to investigate state government operations and make recommendations and legislative proposals to promote efficiency, economy and improved service.

Jack Flanigan has been a member of The Flanigan Law Firm since 1992 and co-founded California Strategies in 1997. He was vice president of public affairs for the Irvine Company from 1985 to 1992 and served as development director for R&B Development from 1980 to 1985. Flanigan served as the executive director of the California Housing Council from 1978 to 1980 and executive director of the Coro Foundation in Los Angeles from 1975 to 1977. He earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.

This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Flanigan is a Republican.
