The Flanigan Firm was started over three decades ago as a family-operated business providing government relations and state lobbying services. It is now owned and operated by Ryan Flanigan.

The firm's clients are primarily large business interests that are directly impacted by the legislative and executive branches of California state government. Industries represented by the firm, now and in the past, include energy, education, telecommunications, land use and housing, financial services, gaming, transportation, recycled commodities, oil and gas, information technology, and regulated consumer products.

Biography

Ryan Flanigan is a highly experienced California lobbyist and government relations professional. He is the second-generation owner and operator of the firm. Prior to joining the firm nearly two decades ago, he worked as a senior staff member in the California legislature, as both the legislative director and press secretary for a state Assembly Member and as an advisor to two successive legislative leaders.

As a professional advocate and state certified lobbyist representing the business sector, Ryan is an expert on the state legislative process and a respected subject-matter expert on a variety of sophisticated business issues.

Ryan is a graduate of the University of California, Davis and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the California Taxpayers Association and a former member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento.

During his time at UC Davis, he was the captain of the football team and the starting quarterback for two successive winning seasons. He remains active in the UC Davis football program as a team sponsor.
